Welcome to HEURISTIQ Society !

The HEURISTIQ Society is a Special Interest Society, a production of the World Intelligence Network, created to host all Cognitive-Science related threads, discussions, articles, problems and links, suggested and submitted by individuals of high intelligence capacities. Supervisor of this thread is Masaaki Yamauchi, the founder of the ESOTERIQ society and the EVANGELIQ society.

High IQ societies members may submit their psychogical works to the supervisor of the HEURISTIQ Society, who will be solely responsible for the consideration for their publication.

The name “HEURISTIQ” comes from the combination of the first seven letters of  the English word “HEURISTIC“ and the IQ component.

HEURISTIC“ is a technical term of learning psychology, neuroscience and computer science,

However, the HEURISTIQ society is limited in relation to Cognitive Science, Leaning psychology and Neuroscience.

The definition of “HEURISTIC” by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heuristic :

Heuristic (/hjʉˈrɪstɨk/Greek: “Εὑρίσκω”, “find” or “discover”) refers to experience-based techniques for problem solving, learning, and discovery that give a solution which is not guaranteed to be optimal. Where the exhaustive search is impractical, heuristic methods are used to speed up the process of finding a satisfactory solution via mental shortcuts to ease the cognitive load of making a decision. Examples of this method include using a rule of thumb, an educated guess, an intuitive judgment, stereotyping, or common sense.

In more precise terms, heuristics are strategies using readily accessible, though loosely applicable, information to control problem solving in human beings and machines.
